PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley left the country on Sunday to undergo a medical check-up in the United States.
On Saturday, the Prime Minister urged citizens to celebrate and appreciate the overall achievements of the twin island republic, as the country celebrated its sixty-two year as an independent nation.
Speaking at a recent post-Cabinet news conference Rowley said he had been postponing his international medical examination for two years now.
He said he feels ‘confident and comfortable’ as he noted his local doctors have been important but there is need for his examination in the United States.
During his absence Minister of Energy and Energy Industries and Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, Stuart Young, will act as Prime Minister until Rowley’s return.
