There were 259 new COVID-19 cases – 129 males and 130 females – reported on Wednesday, October 6th. The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory conducted 2,165 tests.
The new positives consist of 65 people under the age of 18, and 194 who are 18 years and older.
There are 647 people in isolation facilities and 1,491 in home isolation.
Barbados has recorded 10,082 confirmed COVID-19 cases (4,911 males and 5,171 females) since March 2020.
The public health laboratory has carried out 333,787 tests since February last year.
Under the National Vaccination Programme, 140,159 first doses of the COVID-19 vaccines have been administered. A total of 109,785 people (40.5 per cent of the total population or 48.1 per cent of the eligible population) have received their second dose and are fully vaccinated. The eligible population represents those individuals who are 12 years and older.
