A blaze at Mayers Road, My Lord’s Hill, St. Michael resulted in five people, including four children being made homeless.
Chief Fire Officer, Errol Maynard says the Barbados Fire Service was pressed into action on receiving the call at 8:11 this morning.
The home was fully engulfed in flames when fire officials arrived at the scene.
Mr. Maynard revealed the number of fires so far for this year exceeds figures for the past 5 – 10 years.
MP for the area, Trevor Prescod was on the scene and says he is working to assist the affected family.
