The 20-year Transfer Programme of the National Housing Corporation has seen some 590 units transferred to date to tenants.
The update was provided by Minister of Housing, Lands and Maintenance, Dwight Sutherland in response to a question posed by MP for St. Michael North West relating to his constituents in communities, including Fernihurst, Deacons Farm and Rosemont.
He admits there are a number of challenges with the programme, which his Ministry is working to address.
Regarding the electrical upgrade programme, Minister Sutherland says over two thousand units will be upgraded.
