A rise in trauma cases is among the factors blamed for a surge in patients being experienced at the Accident and Emergency Department of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Communications Specialist Shane Sealy says these include patients with gunshots or stabbing injures and others involved in motor vehicles accidents.
Other reasons include rising influenza cases and uncontrolled non communicable diseases.
Mr. Sealy gave the assurance that hospital officials are working to manage the situation.
