Members of the Barbados Fire Service were pressed into action twice on Father’s Day.
On this occasion, a fire at Pinfold Street, the City, destroyed an unoccupied building.
Three water tenders, a tanker and 21 fire officers, under the command of Chief Fire Officer Errol Maynard, responded to the blaze just before 6 p.m.
Chief Maynard says they approached the fire defensively and quickly brought it under control.
And he is appealing to property owners of abandoned buildings to secure their properties.
