250 of the 312 boats actively fishing last year have been returned to the water.
This update is from Chief Fisheries Officer, Dr Shelly-Ann Cox, following last year’s Category 1 Hurricane Beryl which decimated a quarter of the fishing stock.
Dr Cox says work is also progressing on the breakwater wall, with rock placement set to begin in the coming weeks.
She adds that most of the work is being done after hours to reduce disruption.
