At least two banks in Barbados have been affected by the global disruption to several industries caused by a technological glitch.
Across the globe, airports, airlines, banks, emergency services and even governments were hit by what some are calling the biggest I.T. outage in history.
The problem was caused by a software update issued by antivirus company Crowdstrike, to Microsoft Windows operating systems.
This was confirmed by Minister of Industry, Innovation, Science and Technology, Marsha Caddle.
Stressing that it is not a cyber attack, she outlines the nature of the impact on the two banks.
Minister Caddle further states that there has been no impact so far on some of the other key services in the country.
