Today is World Poverty Alleviation Day — and here in Barbados, a call is being made for everyone to play their part.
Senior Family Empowerment Officer with the One Family Programme, Crystal Franklyn, is encouraging Barbadians to show their spirit of giving and lend a helping hand.
The One Family Programme is marking the day with its “Give and Go” event, where members of the public can drop off non-perishable food items or other in-kind donations.
And if you can’t give today, Ms. Franklyn says there are still opportunities to support families in need through the ongoing mentorship and sponsorship programmes.
