Director of Citizen Engagement and Media Relations in the Prime Minister’s Office, Roy Morris, is calling on Barbadians not to be upset if told their vehicle tint does not meet the regulated standards.
Morris explained that the individuals conducting tint tests are not police officers and therefore cannot enforce the law.
Their role is simply to inform drivers whether their tint levels comply with legal requirements.
He noted that a large number of people have been failing the tint test, even though September 1st is the official enforcement date for the new regulations.
While he understands the concern that people were not prepared, he says the law has been set.
