Renee Crichlow is the lone Barbadian to be awarded a 2022 Chevening Scholarship.
The 40 year old and 13 others from the Eastern Caribbean were yesterday announced as the recipients of the prestigious scholarship, which will allow them to pursue one year Master’s degrees at a number of renowned universities in the UK, fully funded by the British government.
Crichlow will begin her studies at the University of West London in October.
She described the moment she got the news she had been awarded the scholarship.
Despite having a Bachelors’ degree in Information Technology and a 9 to 5 in the field, Ms. Crichlow decided to pursue certification and create a business in fitness and wellness specifically related to women.
She will be seeking to expand her expertise in the area, by pursuing a Master of Science in Public Health and Wellbeing.
The other Chevening scholars from the Eastern Caribbean hail from Dominica, Grenada, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
