By the end of May or early June, Barbados will be able to access services at the new Social Empowerment Agency.
Staff for the new agency will soon be offered the positions that have been finalised.
This was disclosed by Minister of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs, Kirk Humphrey.
He explained that the new agency will bring together the Welfare Department, the Child Care Board, the National Assistance Board, and the National Disabilities Unit.
These empowerment centres are set to be located across Barbados.
Minister Humphrey is also hopeful that by the end of June, the Elderly Bill, currently in draft, will be passed into legislation.
