Barbados has been delisted from the European Commission’s blacklist.
The European Commission says the updated list takes into account the work of the Financial Action Task Force, F.A.T.F., and in particular its list of “jurisdictions under increased monitoring”.
Jamaica was also among the eight countries removed from the list.
The Commission says it is closely involved in monitoring the progress of the listed jurisdictions, helping them to fully implement their respective action plans agreed with the FATF.
That alignment is important for upholding the EU’s commitment to promoting and implementing global standards.
Several other jurisdictions, however, were added to the list, including Kenya and Venezuela.
