Barbados is expanding the category of notaries public.
Through the Notaries Public Bill, 2024 that was brought before the Senate for Debate, ordinary citizens were able to join the group.
Under the Legislation, the notary public will serve the public in non-contentious matters, and authenticate documents related to immigration/marriage, and other areas.
Leader of Government Business and Minister of Energy and Business, Senator Lisa Cummins says it’s all part of efforts to ease doing business in Barbados and making services more accessible to the public.
