Barbados has been named a finalist in this year’s Earthshot Prize, in the “Fix Our Climate” category.
The recognition comes for the Bridgetown Initiative – a bold push spearheaded by Prime Minister Mia Mottley to reform global climate finance and unlock critical funding for countries on the frontlines of the climate crisis.
The Earthshot Prize is the world’s most prestigious environmental award, celebrating solutions with the power to protect and restore nature, clean our air, revive our oceans, build a waste-free world, and fix our climate.
This year’s Earthshot Awards ceremony takes place on November 5 at the Museum of Tomorrow in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
