Barbadians who served in military forces outside the Commonwealth are now eligible for membership in the Barbados Legion.
The announcement was made by Chairman of the Barbados Legion, Lieutenant Colonel Atheline Branch, during a church service marking the organisation’s 69th anniversary at Bethel Methodist Church today.
Minister of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs Adrian Forde, members of the Barbados Defence Force, the Barbados Regiment Reserve, the Coast Guard and the Cadet Corps were among those in attendance.
Lieutenant Colonel Branch explained that this was one of several adjustments recently made within the organisation.
She added that spouses and civilian staff are also now eligible for membership.
