Barbados is being proposed as a logistical hub to help meet the demand for food from some African and Gulf State countries.
That’s the view of Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley as she addressed today’s AfriCaribbean Trade and Investment Forum 2023 opening session in Guyana.
Ms. Mottley believes countries in the region have the capacity to supply the goods however, she says there’s a need for greater compliance with matters that will make the trade an immediate reality.
Prime Minister Mottley has also welcomed the bank’s commitment of 300 million dollars to the tourism and hospitality section of the region.
She says the ability of the bank to provide access to the fund is critical.
