Barbadians can expect more than lights at roundabouts for this year’s national Independence celebrations.
Sagicor Life Incorporated, in partnership with the Ministry of Youth, Community and People Empowerment, will be decorating 11 select locations — one in each parish.
This was disclosed by Minister Charles Griffith as Sagicor donated 30 thousand dollars for this year’s lighting ceremony.
Speaking at the cheque handover this morning, he said the 11 sites earmarked for decoration include churches, schools and community centres.
Meanwhile, coordinator of the Community Independence Celebrations Secretariat, Jessica Parris, says several local entertainers will participate in the November 1st lighting ceremony which will kick off the Independence celebrations.
