A brazen daylight robbery of an elderly man caught on camera is tonight being condemned by the Barbados Association of Retired Persons.
Making the rounds on social media, the elderly man is beaten and robbed before the perpetrator makes off, while the old man cries out for help.
BARP president Marilyn Rice-Bowen says the incident is deeply concerning and highlights several critical issues in society, including safety and the vulnerability of certain populations, particularly seniors.
Ms Rice-Bowen says BARP is confident the Barbados Police Service will apprehend the suspect.
However, she stresses BARP’s focus is on the victim.
Meanwhile, Police Communications and Public Affairs Officer, Inspector Ryan Brathwaite, says they are aware of the incident and are conducting investigations into the matter.
