Fire officials are exploring alternative sources of water to fight fires within The City.
Station Officer at the Bridgetown Fire Station, Roger Bourne, tells CBC News it is necessary to find alternatives to potable water.
He says an alternative is brackish water or seawater.
Fire officers were busy in the city exploring that possibility earlier Monday.
He says when a big fire event occurs in Bridgetown, it is an all-hands-on-deck approach, so this initial work will allow for all fire officers to have the knowledge of the established points to access the water from the Careenage.
