BFS welcomes Government’s intention to demolish abandoned buildings

Government’s announcement of its intention to demolish abandoned buildings and derelict structures across the island is receiving a thumbs up from the Barbados Fire Service.

Deputy Chief Fire Officer Henderson Patrick tells CBC News this is welcoming since these structures have been a major headache for fire officers.

Mr. Patrick says over the years the Fire Service has raised concerns about derelict structures since they increase the risk of loss of life when they go up in flames.
