The Barbados Light and Power Company estimates that it is 20 times more expensive to invest in an underground electricity network, than to have one above ground.
That’s according to the Company’s Director of Operations Johann Greaves.
His comments come as the hurricane season causes more attention to be focused on the resilience of Barbados’ electricity supply.
