The Barbados National Union of Fisherfolk Organisations, BARNUFO, is calling for boat owners to protect their investments by taking out marine insurance.
90% of the 209 boats damaged or completely destroyed by Hurricane Beryl on July 1st, were not insured.
And BARNUFO’s Treasurer, Catherine Sandiford-Tull, who’s also president of the Weston Fisherfolk and Community Inc., is urging boat owners to get insurance.
