4.5 acres of land along the Mighty Grynner Highway is earmarked for the development of a boat repair facility.
Chief Executive Officer of the Barbados Port Inc, David Jean-Marie says the facility is in keeping with the BPI’s Master Plan 2030.
It will meet the needs of the local boating sector to reduce foreign exchange spent with the offering of services to boat owners who would otherwise have to take their vessels off-island for repairs annually.
He made the announcement at the presentation of the Minister’s Award of Maritime Excellence 2024.
Mr. Jean-Marie adds the Port will have a new pilot launch by the first half of next month.
