The Barbados Statistical Service (BSS) is the latest Government department to be targeted by hackers.
Officials say the systems were breached on October 30, 2024, and that data was obtained by malicious actors.
Minister in the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Investment Chad Blackman tells CBC News the situation has been contained, with systems taken offline.
According to him, the investigations so far reveal most of the information involved in the incident relates to survey data gathered primarily for statistical research purposes.
