The Barbados Union of Teachers says schools must be safe spaces for all who attend, and wants a national dialogue on the issue.
This is according to General Secretary Gilbert Carmichael.
He’s been commenting on concerns raised by Union members about the level of violence in schools.
Mr. Carmichael says social problems will always be a part of the landscape and he stresses people in society now need to get back to looking out for each other.
