The Barbados Union of Teachers has given the Ministry of Educational Transformation until the end of today to respond to its demand for the reinstatement of a term’s leave for teachers.
The deadline follows a meeting between the BUT and education officials this morning.
BUT General Secretary Gilbert Carmichael conveyed the message.
In a swift response, Minister of Educational Transformation Senator Chad Blackman said that while he respects the role of labour unions, he must question why the BUT has issued a deadline at this time.
