Workmen from the Barbados Water Authority are currently working on yet another burst main, this time, a fifteen-inch main at Pine Plantation Road, St. Michael.
It happened one day after the BWA started work to hurriedly repair a burst 20-inch main at My Lord’s Hill, St. Michael.
Senior Superintendent of Works Gregory Thompson says early this morning, the BWA received reports about the burst main at Pine Plantation Road.
BWA’s Acting Chief Executive Officer, Christopher Mapp, says while dealing with an ageing infrastructure, he expects issues such as burst mains to arise periodically.
He says there are about ninety burst mains across the island on a monthly basis.
