The Barbados Water Authority is advising residents and businesses in St. Lucy that its swabbing exercise to address discoloured water issues in the parish will recommence on Wednesday, October 2 and continue until Friday, October 25, 2024.
In a release, the BWA says this swabbing exercise is a continuation of its actions to address discoloured water in the distribution system supplying the areas following areas: Colleton, Checker Hall, Shermans, Clinketts, Half Moon Fort, Fustic Village, Six Men’s Village, Sutherland Hill, Maycocks, Maycocks Development, Content, Harrisons Plantation Road, Bourbon and surrounding districts.
Work will be conducted on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
The BWA says residents and businesses may be affected by discoloured water, chlorine taste, low pressure or a water outage during these hours.
Residents are asked to store an adequate supply of water to assist, and water tankers will also be dispatched to service the affected areas.
The Barbados Water Authority apologises for any inconvenience this work may cause.
