Barbados and the region on the eve of International Women’s Day have heard countries still have a long way to go towards equity, eradicating harmful gender stereotypes and ending all forms of violence.
While acknowledging the strides made regarding law and policy, Commissioner of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, Roberta Clarke has told the Organisation of American States, OAS that public policy gaps remain evident today.
Ms. Clarke was at the time addressing a Special Meeting of the OAS Permanent Council to commemorate International Women’s Day.
The campaign theme for International Women’s Day 2024 is to ‘Inspire Inclusion’.
