The Caribbean needs to have a lot more cultural confidence.
That’s the word from coordinator of CARIFESTA 15’s Big Conversations and Symposium, Dr. Marielle Barrow-Maignan.
She says countries throughout the region need to respect their own voices, recognising there is a place for it on local and international stages.
Dr. Barrow-Maignan also notes that will be one of the topics on the front burner during CARIFESTA 15, which opens next week.
She was speaking as a guest on CBC’s Mornin’ Barbados.
