The recently concluded 48th CARICOM Heads of Government meeting hosted by Barbados has been deemed a success.
Ambassador to CARICOM, David Comissiong says Barbados’ Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley laid out the mantra for the meeting, advising leaders it will not be business as usual.
He says attention was placed on crime and security, food security, the single market and economy and regional tourism among others.
He notes CARICOM leaders have been outward looking with the invitation of the President of the European Commission, along with the Secretary-General of the UN, among several other international guests.
Ambassador Comissiong was a guest on the Conversation on CARICOM segment of CBC TV8’s Mornin’ Barbados.
