People coming to Barbados under the CARICOM full free movement regime will have to meet all job requirements before they can work here.
Minister of Home Affairs and Information Wilfred Abrahams made that clear in Parliament on Monday as he led off the debate on the Caribbean Community (Free Movement of Nationals) Bill, 2025. The full free movement regime began on October 1 and includes Barbados, Belize, Dominica, and St Vincent and the Grenadines.
Minister Abrahams says each CARICOM national will be given an identification card to access emergency and healthcare services. However, he has cleared up the misconception of CARICOM nationals being given ID cards to be able to vote.
