CARICOM to monitor food security trends in real time

Decision-makers from Barbados and the region, along with researchers, will be able to closely monitor trends in food security in real time through the just-launched Caribbean Real-Time Food Security Monitoring Dashboard.

Through this platform, CARICOM says they will also gain a better understanding of the drivers of food security in the region and identify areas with the greatest needs.

Secretary-General Dr. Carla Barnett sees it as a significant game-changer, given the strides made by countries of the bloc in reducing their food import bills.

Dr. Barnett revealed most member states of CARICOM are already contributing to the Caribbean Real-Time Food Security Monitoring Dashboard.
