Local police officers are working around the clock to bring hundreds of offenders to justice but some of their efforts seem to be going in vain.
That is because some accused are successfully winning cases filed because of lengthy delays.
Anesta Henry tells us Attorney General Dale Marshall raised the issue at the opening of a symposium to address the backlog in the justice system, which was held at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.
