The Caribbean Development Bank has been engaging in discussions with CARICOM agencies as the Donald Trump administration announces it will be terminating thousands of USAID foreign assistance grants and programmes.
That’s according to President Daniel Best, who says there is approximately US two hundred and eighty million dollars in undisbursed obligations to the Caribbean from US funding.
He says 80% of this is to go towards Haiti, which is battling a deepening crisis.
Mr Best was speaking during the bank’s annual news conference.
