A couple lost their home to the firebug when it struck this morning at Brydens Avenue, Brittons Hill, St Michael.
The blaze was reported at 9:23 am.
The incident left homeowner Elson Dowell distraught, and he had to be assisted by residents and fire service personnel at the scene.
The property, which he shared with his wife, was uninsured.
Fire officials from the Bridgetown Fire Station and the Bridgetown Port Station responded to the blaze.
Station Officer Angela Reveira says no one was home at the time of the blaze.
Minister of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs and MP for St. Michael South, Kirk Humphrey, says the Dowell family lost everything in the blaze.
He says the Resilience Unit will render assistance to the fire victims.
