Barbadians have been invited to take part in this year’s Day of National Significance celebrations.
Barbados’ Ambassador to CARICOM, His Excellency David Comissiong, says this year there will be a focus on regional uprisings of the 1930s.
Celebrations kick off on Saturday at Golden Square Freedom Park in The City, culminating in a concert.
According to historical records, the uprisings began in Belize before spreading to St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Barbados, and Trinidad and Tobago.
