There’s been a gradual decline in the number of Barbadian students registered at the University of the West Indies at Cave Hill.
Pro Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Professor Clive Landis says this is mirrored by the demographic decline in the country, given the falling birth rate and aged population.
The information was presented during the 2025 Annual Report Presentations and Council Meetings of UWI at the Cave Hill Campus.
However Professor Landis says a different scenario exists for Caribbean contributing countries to UWI along with international students.
Professor Landis presented the strides made by UWI Cave Hill in several areas along with its partnerships forged.
He’s outlined plans for a proposal to make Barbados an educational tourism hub.
