The Barbados Association of Retailers, Vendors and Entrepreneurs has teamed up with a number of entities to regulate coconut vendors on the nation’s highways.
That’s according to BARVEN’s roving Communications Officer Robert Maloney.
He says at the Newton, Christ Church site, they have teamed up with Export Barbados, and thus far they have seen vast improvements.
Additionally, Mr. Maloney says they are also working with members of the Barbados Police Service to clean up the Warrens, St. Michael area, after receiving complaints from businesses there.
However, he says, one of the challenges facing the coconut vendors in that area is not having easy access to the dump, especially on Sundays when more coconuts are sold.
