Employers urged not to force employees to retire at 65

Government will be moving to deal with employers for underreporting the number of employees.

And Minister of Labour Colin Jordan says it has implications for payment of National Insurance Contributions.

He made the disclosure during his contribution to the Resolution: 2023-2028 National Policy on Ageing in the House of Assembly.

Mr. Jordan says labour officers have been engaged in undercover work and taking note of the inconsistencies by some employers.

Moreover, Mr. Jordan is urging employers to stop forcing employees to retire at 65.
