A press conference was held for the launch of the event at O2 Beach Club.
There the media was told there will be a range of activities at the Festival, which are developmental in nature.
The preservation of cultural heritage, especially the performing arts, will play a major role and the Founder of the Festival Karlos Cobham intends to help open up avenues for the artistes.
One of the main activities will be the Walk for the Arts on Saturday, which begins at 6:00 a.m. in Warrens near the BTMI building and ends at the National Botanical Gardens.
The Festival was endorsed by President of the Barbados Association of Calypsonians and Artistes, Sean ‘Apache’ Carter.
