The Ministry of Educational Transformation is reporting a reduction in weapons being found in schools.
Deputy Chief Education Officer, Julia Beckles, indicates that violent acts involving weapons are on the decline.
She says searches are conducted at various times during the school day, as students are often crafty in concealing weapons.
However, she admits that some students still manage to access weapons off the school compound.
