The Lions Club of St. Michael is urging greater focus on educating children about diabetes to reduce the incidence of that non-communicable disease.
The Club’s president, Erving Small, says early education and involvement are key to reducing the number of people who develop diabetes later in life.
Mr Small was speaking at the National Primary School Diabetes Quiz at Solidarity House, where students from several primary schools competed in the finals.
Mr Small added that the Lions Club of St. Michael intends to continue supporting efforts to tackle critical issues, including non-communicable diseases.
