The Season of Emancipation is fast approaching, and Barbadians can look forward to an ambitious four-month programme of events.
The season officially begins on April 14, the anniversary of the Bussa Slave Rebellion, and runs until August 27, Jackie Opel Day.
It will be observed under the theme: “Reimagining Our Past, Celebrating Our Future.”
Programme Advisor in the Division of Culture within the Prime Minister’s Office, Rodney Grant, says the Season of Emancipation is a time for citizens to pause and reflect on their identity.
Mr. Grant was a guest on CBC TV8’s Mornin’ Barbados.
