Barbadians who are engaged in the business of short-term rentals, like Airbnbs, will no longer have to file the Value Added Tax forms every two months for the Shared Economy Levy.
This as Government moves to amend the Tourism Levy Bill.
This was revealed by Minister in the Ministry of Finance, Ryan Straughn, as he led off debate in the House of Assembly on the Tourism Levy (Amendment) Bill, 2025.
And Minister Straughn makes it clear that this is not anything new that Government is introducing, as it was first introduced on July 1st, 2018.
Minister Straughn adds as ordinary Barbadians continue to benefit from offering up their properties as short-term rentals, so has the economy.
