Minister of Housing, Lands and Maintenance, Dwight Sutherland says that in the 60s and 70s members of the disabled community did not benefit from the level of support that currently exists.
He says some families then were ashamed of disabled members.
Mr. Sutherland paid kudos to the BLP for its work in advancing the cause of the disabled, allowing them to secure housing and apply for loans through the trust loan programme.
