Pro Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the UWI Cave Hill Campus Professor Clive Landis sees great potential for the island’s coconut industry beyond just the sale of coconut water and jelly.
He believes the usually discarded parts of the coconut can be used to create greater value, generate income and create more jobs.
Professor Landis says UWI’s involvement in the symposium is evidence of the University’s commitment through its Centre for Agricultural Research and Innovation, to advance sustainable agriculture and economic development in Barbados and the region.
