Secretary of the Caribbean Against Apartheid in Palestine, Lalu Hanuman, has called for a reform of the electoral system in Barbados.
He was speaking at a protest outside the US Embassy on the fifth anniversary of the death of George Floyd in the United States.
Hanuman believes that the electoral system needs to be looked at so there would be equal representation in the House of Assembly.
Mr. Hanuman also contends there is a need for a more democratic electoral system, and thinks that in the towns in Barbados, there may need to be local councils to make sure the people are well represented.
