The high cost of boat insurance is taking a toll on the local fishing industry, with some fishermen still reeling from the effects of Hurricane Beryl.
Many boats were destroyed or severely damaged during the hurricane, but for some, recovery has been slow or impossible because their vessels weren’t insured.
Boat owner Charles Inniss says his issue is the Government’s request that they obtain third-party insurance.
Another boat owner, Harvey Corbin, says he is doing what he can to get his boat back in operation, but he did not have a good experience trying to secure insurance.
